Diploma

Effects of climate and land use changes on sedimentary records of the Lütschine fan delta during the last 500 years.

My diploma thesis focus on the paleoenvironmental reconstruction of the Lütschine catchment of the past 500 years. We use high- and medium-resolution proxy data from fan delta deposits and pollen records. The studies address the influence of external factors, such as climatic variability and land use, on aggradation processes and paleofloods in the Lütschine catchment and contribute to the calibration of sedimentary archives by documentary sources and instrumental records.
